The Birth of the Project

​

The CryptoFaces collection, although imprinted with iconic models, has its origins in the recent COVID health crisis.

 

Let's go back in time: I have been a nurse in the intensive care unit for almost 10 years. I am not a great sentimentalist, I have long used to internalize my feelings and when I am no longer able, my mind seems to leave my body and I escape into my imagination ... And I must admit that this COVID crisis was one of its difficult periods in my life: tired of my profession between overwork, distress, death and general sickness, I had to stop working for a time when my imagination was no longer enough ...

It is there that appears "My Masked Sad boy", my alter ego, central character of the CryptoFaces collection. Sad, exasperated by everything, he tries to escape by becoming someone else. You will probably ask me why I made him wear a mask? The reason is that I got tired of seeing only the eyes of my colleagues, my interlocutors so I reversed the situation and moved the mask from the mouth to the eyes ... It does not make the CryptoFaces more expressive but it makes them alive and sometimes more mysterious ...

 

I revisit through my collection everything that feeds my imagination: pop culture, art, history, and so on and the best ...
